1. Who We Are

NaviWeather is an iOS application developed by Laurenz Frank ("we", "us", "our"). This privacy policy explains how we handle information when you use NaviWeather.

2. Information We Collect

2.1 Information You Provide

• Route data — Start location, destination, and any intermediate stops you enter to plan a route. This includes place names and geographic coordinates.
• Saved favorites — If you choose to save a route as a favorite, the place names and coordinates are stored locally on your device.

2.2 Information Collected Automatically

• Device location — Only when you explicitly tap "Use Current Location". We request a single location fix at reduced accuracy (~100 meters). Location is not stored or tracked in the background.
• Usage counters — We track how many routes you calculate per month (a simple counter) to manage the free tier allowance. This is stored locally on your device only.

2.3 Information We Do Not Collect

• Names, email addresses, or phone numbers
• User accounts or profiles
• Device identifiers (IDFA, IDFV)
• Browsing or search history
• Contacts, photos, or other personal files
• Background location tracking
• Analytics or telemetry data

3. How We Use Your Information

We use route and location data solely to:

• Calculate driving routes between your specified locations
• Fetch weather forecasts for waypoints along your route
• Provide departure time recommendations based on weather and traffic
• Display your saved favorite routes on your device

We do not use your data for advertising, profiling, or any purpose unrelated to providing the app's core functionality.

4. Third-Party Services

To provide route planning and weather data, we send requests to the following third-party services. These requests contain only the geographic coordinates or place names necessary to fulfill your query — no personal identifiers are included.

We also fetch a small configuration file from GitHub (a public URL) at app launch to check for required updates. This request contains no personal data.

5. Data Storage & Security

• Local storage only — All user preferences, saved favorites, and usage counters are stored on your device. We do not operate servers or databases that store your data.
• Encrypted connections — All network requests use HTTPS encryption.

6. Subscriptions & Payments

NaviWeather offers optional Premium subscriptions (monthly and yearly). All payment processing is handled entirely by Apple through the App Store. We never see, collect, or store your payment information, credit card details, or Apple ID.

Subscription status is verified locally on your device using Apple's StoreKit framework.

7. Children's Privacy

NaviWeather is not directed at children under the age of 13 (or the applicable age in your jurisdiction). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

8. Data Retention & Deletion

Since all data is stored locally on your device:

• Deleting the app removes all NaviWeather data from your device, including saved favorites and preferences.
• You can delete individual saved routes at any time within the app.
• Monthly usage counters reset automatically at the start of each calendar month.

9. Your Rights

Because we do not collect personal data on our servers, there is no data for us to access, export, or delete on your behalf. All your data resides on your device and is under your full control. You can:

• Revoke location permission at any time in iOS Settings
• Delete saved favorites within the app
• Uninstall the app to remove all associated data

10. Changes to This Policy

We may update this privacy policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. We encourage you to review this policy periodically.
